Christmas in City set for downtown Huntington Nov. 24

Christmas in the City will take place in downtown Huntington on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Children can enjoy fun activities from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. followed by a visit from Santa Claus and tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. at Rotary Centennial Park.

Children’s activities will be located on Jefferson Street in the third block of the downtown area. The tree lighting ceremony will follow when Santa arrives on a fire truck.

The tree lighting ceremony will include glow sticks, caroling and assorted treats. A parade to the Huntington County Courthouse will be led by Santa Claus and the fire truck. Children along with their families can parade to the courthouse through the downtown area.

Santa Claus will then visit with children in the courthouse rotunda. While waiting to visit with Santa, children can color, eat cookies and enjoy hot chocolate.

The annual event is coordinated by the Downtown Business Association, the City of Huntington and the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce.
