Wanda L. Armantrout, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at 6:20 p.m. at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center, Markle.
Mrs. Armantrout was a nurse's aide. She was a 1943 graduate of Liberty Center High School. She was a member of First Brethren Church where she served as president of the Women's Missionary Society and she was also on the District Women's Missionary Society Board. She belonged to the Liberty Center Home Economics Club.
She was born Jan. 29, 1924, in South Whitley to Daltie and Lois Stieman Maggart. She married Elmer E. Armantrout on Aug. 24, 1944, in Liberty Center. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Armantrout, of Huntington, and Dennis (Denise) Armantrout, of California; a daughter, Sue Armantrout, of Huntington; four sisters, Donna Baxter, of Fort Wayne, Venita Hall and Elaine Hamilton, both of Bluffton, and Eva Smith, of Ossian.
Calling is Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon with a service immediately following at Deal-Rice Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington, with Rev. Dianna Teusch of First Brethren Church officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
