Jerry C. Wiley, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 6:08 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Wiley graduated from Lancaster High School in 1956. He served in the United States Marine Corps for three years following his high school graduation. He retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. He was also employed by Huntington County Community School Corporation on the summer mowing crew for several years following retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Huntington and Indiana Bassmasters.
He was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Huntington to I.H. and Mary Alexander Wiley. He married Alice Gooley on Nov. 18, 1962, in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors are a daughter, Laura (Mark) Olivero, of Fort Wayne; a son, Todd (Colette) Wiley, of Huntington; three sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Pientka, of Middleton, WI; Nancy Wiley, of Fort Wayne; and Carol Zurcher of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Janet Wiley, of Huntington; and four granddaughters, Tara Olivero and Erica Olivero, both of Fort Wayne, and Carissa Wiley and Micayla Wiley, both of Huntington.
Calling is Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the mortuary, with one hour of visitation prior. Rev. Jeff Carrell will be officiating, with military rites performed by the VFW Post 2689.
