Four Huntington North High School senior wrestlers won the final home dual matches of their careers on Thursday night, Dec. 19 as the Vikings defeated visiting Southwood, 38-28.
Nick Meharg at 152 pounds, Kyle Jolas at 160, Mark Howell at 170 and Layne Emery at 220 went out on top in front of the home fans and led the Vikings to their seventh win against four losses this season.
The Vikings, dealing with some injury issues, gave away three forfeits, but got eight wins on the night for the win.
Freshman Zack Johnson at 106 got one of the four non-senior wins, as did junior Tanner Shipley at 132, sophomore Bailey Shockome at 145 and sophomore Chandler Updike at 182.
Shipley and Jolas got their wins via pin, Johnson and Howell won by major decision and Shockome and Meharg got forfeit victories.
