The Huntington University women's bowling team took runner-up honors at the 2013 Cardinal Baker Classic, held at Munsee Lanes, in Muncie, over Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8.
The Foresters led through the 37th game on Sunday before succumbing to Bowling Green in the final three games to finish second by only 22 pins.
Despite the disappointing finish, Coach Jim Bischoff was pleased with his team's performance.
"The ladies just keep getting better and better each tournament, gaining more and more experience and confidence," said Bischoff. "I'm very proud of them as strikes were hard to come by and so were spares at times on the very difficult lane conditions."
Bowling Green captured the title with 6,696 pins, followed by Huntington with 6,674, Alma with 6,353 and Ball State with 6,053.
