Domination in the upper weights gave the Huntington North High School varsity wrestling team a 39-32 win over visiting Logansport on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Vikings won every match from 182 pounds and up - three by pin -- to improve to 3-1 on the season.
For the match, HNHS won eight matches, five by pin.
Leading the charge for HNHS were sophomore Chandler Updike at 182 pounds, junior Corbin Clarke at 195, senior Layne Emery at 220 and sophomore heavyweight Shawn Renz, with the latter three getting the pin wins.
The remaining Viking wins came from freshman Zack Johnson at 106, junior Tanner Shipley at 132, sophomore Bailey Shockome at 145 and senior Kyle Jolas at 160. Shockome and Jolas recorded pins.
"Our kids came away with a nice win tonight against a good Logansport team," notes HNHS Head Coach Kyle Wood. "We had solid performances from our upperclassmen and experienced wrestlers, as well as some nice surpirses from some of our younger guys."
