John P. Moore, 71, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at 5:25 p.m. at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Moore graduated in 1960 from Tuley High School, in Chicago, IL. He also attended Moody Bible Institute and Northwestern School of Business. He was employed by the Huntington Water Department for 30 years, retiring in 2004 as superintendent. He was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church.
He was born Oct. 1, 1942, in Huntington to Marion and Deloris Denis Moore. He married Sondra J. Cotton on Sept. 21, 1985, in Huntington. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2002.
Survivors include four daughters, Carole (Frank) Moore, of London, Ontario; Cheryl Fleenor, of Des Plaines, IL; Lisa (Ron) Clark, of Fort Wayne; and Jill (David) Hamilton, of Huntington; two brothers, Bill Moore, of Phoenix, AZ, and Harley Wolfe, of Huntington; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at New Hope United Brethren Church, 2001 Engle St., Huntington. Rev. Lynn Mefford will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
