The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team swept the top six spots and cruised to victory in the North Central Conference Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Indiana Wesleyan University.
With their seventh runner placing ninth, the Lady Vikings had everyone get all-conference honors on the way to scoring the lowest possible total of 15 points. Logansport was runner-up with 61 points.
Sophomore Hannah Stoffel dominated the day as her winning time of 19:24.9 was more than a minute faster than the runner-up, freshman teammate Cadee Harmon, who came home in 20:28.6.
Junior Emily Eherenman ran a personal-best 20:32.2 for third place, sophomore Marissa Jamison placed fourth in a season-best 20:41.0 and junior Stephanie McElhaney wrapped up the scoring with fifth in 20:53.9.
Junior Taryn Doering was one spot further back in 21:00.2 and senior Cassidy Johnson capped off the all-conference honors by placing ninth in 21:21.3.
Marion placed third as a team with 76 points, Muncie Central was fourth with 127 points, Kokomo was fifth with 150, Anderson was sixth with 155 and Richmond was seventh with 186.
Among the North junior varsity runners, Kelsey Coles recorded a personal-best 21:45, and Ally Faurote got a personal-best with a 22:10. Rachel Jones crossed the finish line in 22:35 and Kayla Farrell had a personal-best of 22:52.
