Brandy L. Swope, CPA, and managing partner of Kline's CPA Group, Huntington, was recently a featured speaker for the third Annual Indiana State Bar Association's Agricultural Law Section Meeting.
Swope discussed "The Status (or lack thereof) of a New Farm Bill".
The meeting was held on Sept. 20, at Huber's Orchard & Winery in Starlight.
Other featured speakers included Becky Skillman, former Lt. Governor; Pete Eschelman, owner of Joseph Decuis Restaurant in Roanoke; and Justin Schneider, Attorney, Indiana Farm Bureau.
Swope joined Kline's CPA in 1999 and became a partner of the firm in January 2010. She is a Huntington College graduate and a Kosciusko County native. Brandy has acquired expertise in strategic and income tax planning; particularly agricultural taxation and planning; preparing tax projections for individuals and business entities; and assisting with the development of accounting and software systems for start-up businesses.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Indiana CPA Society. She also serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of McKenzie's Hope, a non-profit child advocacy center in Huntington.
