The Huntington County Genealogy Society will meet on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. in the Indiana Room of the Huntington City-Township Public Library.
The guest speaker will be Julie DuVall, who will appear as Mary Ann Bickerdyke, who was part of the nursing corps during the Civil War period.
Bickerdyke, who was born in Ohio in 1817, worked to improve conditions for wounded soldiers during the Civil War. She eventually built more than 300 field hospitals and became known as "Mother" Bickerdyke.
Later in her career, she became an advocate on behalf of United States veterans.
The public is invited to attend the program.
