Eddie Duane Runion, 74, of Markle, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
Mr. Runion attended Huntington High School. He was a 40-year member of the TurnPointe Community Church of the Brethren, Markle, serving on multiple church committees. He was a 19-year member of the Markle Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from IMI Erie Stone Inc. after 33 years of employment.
After retiring, he served in the mission fields at Riverside Christian School in Lost Creek, KY, and at the New Windsor Church of the Brethren Conference Center in New Windsor, MD. He also volunteered as a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team and assisted at local bloodmobile sites.
He was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Jay County to Clifton and Edith Morris Runion. He married Betty Fry on Aug. 9, 1957, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Marshall, of Markle, and Diana (Terry) Lahr, of Fort Wayne; two sons, William Runion, of Markle, and Richard (Christine) Runion, of South Haven, MI; two brothers, Clifford Runion and Dave (Kathy) Runion; two sisters, Lucille Wilson and Susie (Terry) Lindsey; six grandchildren, Andy Marshall, Quentin Runion, Candace Papke, Mallory Lahr, Jena Runion and Ryann Runion; and eight great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the TurnPointe Community Church, 500 W. Logan St., Markle.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Emergency Brethren Disaster Relief Fund or Camp Mack's Growing from Ashes Fund in care of TurnPointe Community Church.
