Four short comedies will be included in Huntington North High School's One-Act Play Festival.
Performances are Thursday and Friday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. in the HNHS auditorium. Each evening will feature the talents of eight female student directors and additional HNHS students in 35 roles.
In "Match (dot) Comedy," a man sets himself up with some amazing and bizarre dates. Casey Richman and Kiersten Shortridge are the directors, and the cast includes Jacob Mellendorf, Matti Gick, Taylor Imel, Kaley Higgins, Ashly Martin, Kandice Grimme and Kayleigh Carr.
Other productions feature a human frog, two women who won't give up control of the television remote and a desperate man who rents a family for the weekend.
Taylor Haneline and Morgan Nightingale will direct "The Actor's Challenge." The play's cast includes Ashley Landon, Matt Wilson, Riley Friar, Ripley Friar, Kayleigh Carr and Matti Gick.
"Happily Never After" is directed by Andrea Broxon and Kylie Tester, who are both also members of the cast. In addition to the directing duo, the players are Matt Stephenson, Jonathon Goulding, Madie Mettler, Kandice Grimme, Drew Hollman, Kayla McInyre, Ashly Martin, Dustin Adamson and Theresa Bingham.
Ashley Landon and Autumn Schulte are the directors of "Expedient Family," with Schulte also joining the cast. Rounding out the cast are Dustin Adamson, Mat Wilson, Jonathon Goulding, Elizabeth Reed and Taylor Imel.
Tickets will be available at the HNHS box office beginning at 6:15 p.m. both nights. Doors to the auditorium open at 6:30 p.m.
