Deborah A. "Debbie" Stowers, 62, of Hartville, OH, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.
Mrs. Stowers graduated from Huntington North High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in home economics from Purdue University in 1972 and a master's degree in nutrition from Kent State University in 1981. She taught at Maplewood Joint Vocational School and the Canton City Schools. She was a member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school and assisted with vacation Bible school.
She was born May 18, 1950, in Huntington to Virgil E. and Esther Tyner Kline. She married Ross "Jay" Stowers in June, 1973. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Aaron (Christina) Stowers, of Washington, DC; a daughter, Beth (Chris) Plotts, of Ann Arbor, MI; and a sister, Vickie (Ron) Craker, of Granger.
A service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 5 p.m., with calling two hours prior to the service, at the Hartville Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Anthony DiMarco officiating.
A second service will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, at noon, with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Salamonie Church of the Brethren, 2662W-600S, Warren. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Hartville Church of the Brethren or Salamonie Church of the Brethren.
