Jack C. Brooks

Jack C. Brooks, 82, of Sturgis, MI, and with ties to Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Brooks resided in Sturgis since 1986.  His early life was spent in the Huntington where he was a graduate of Rock Creek High School. He furthered his education at Hanover College in Hanover where he earned a Bachelor’s. Most of his working life was involved in adult developmental community programs.  He retired from ARCH Workshops in Sturgis following several dedicated years of service as the Executive Director. He was a past member of the Sturgis Kiwanis Club.
     
He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Florida, to Nyal and Maxine Brooks. He married Sandra Barto in 1967, in Angola. She survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Dana Brooks Burns of Buffalo, WY; a son, Morgan Brooks of Sturgis, MI; and two granddaughters, Halle Brooks and Kylie Brooks.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Brooks.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been gifted to the University Of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor, MI.  No services are planned at this time.
