Kirby Kersey

Kirby Kersey, 89, of Roanoke, IN, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Kersey was a member of Kirby Baptist Church in Arkansas. Most of his adult life he was a master auto mechanic. He was also a foster parent to over 100 foster children in his lifetime.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Kirby, AR, to Carl and Lida Kersey. He married Donna Sparks in 1953. She preceded him in death in 2013. He later married Marie Morfield in 2013. She preceded him in death in 2018.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Sparks, of Roanoke, Suzan (Ed) High, of Huntington, and Sandra Kersey, of Fort Wayne; two sons, David (Becky) Kersey, of Huntington, and Bob (Gina) Kersey, of Amboi; a sister, Quilla (Joe) White, of Texas; a brother, Billy (Mary) Kersey, of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

There will be no visitation or funeral service.
