Steven R. Schnitz

Steven R. Schnitz, 72, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at 6:55 a.m., at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
    
Mr. Schnitz graduated in 1966 from Rochester High School High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a member and past President of the Lime City Cruisers Car Club, a member of the American Legion Post No. 7 of Huntington and a former Jr. Vice Commander of the V.F.W. Post No. 2689, also of Huntington.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1948, in Huntington, to James and Maxine Schnitz. He married Erma Jean Schnitz on May 31, 1969, in Rochester. She survives in Huntington.
                
Additional survivors include a daughter, Dawn M. (Scott Christ) Tate; a son, David W. (Andrea) Schnitz; two sisters, Kathy (Fred) Pinatelli, of Peru, and Pam (George) Reed, of Akron; two brothers, Jeff (Lisa) Schnitz, of Rochester, and David Schnitz, of Huntington; three grandchildren, Ashley M. (Cody) Johnson, Dylan R. Schnitz, and Kaleb L. Steelman; and three great-grandsons.

Calling will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will immidiately follow at noon, with Rev. Paul Hirschy officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County. Those in attendance are asked to follow local recommendations for face coverings and social distancing during all events.
