Vivian E. Drabenstott

Vivian E. Drabenstott, 95, of Kansas City, MO, and formerly of Markle, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, in Kansas City, MO.

Mrs. Drabenstott earned a BA and MA from St. Francis University. She taught elementary art for 15 years, ending her career at Ossian School. She also worked on her husband’s farm in Wells County.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1925, in Hector, MN, to A. Roy and Emma Johnson. She married Herman Drabenstott on Aug. 11, 1946. He preceded her in death.

Surivivors include two sons, Jon Drabenstott, of Ypsilanti, MI, and Mark (Peggy) Drabenstott, of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Jane (Jim) Szabo, of Waldport, OR; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachel Drabenstott.

A private graveside service will be held at Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County. In the coming weeks, an online memorial service and celebration of live will be held. Details may be found on Jane Szabo’s Facebook page.
