Robert "Bob” R. Bartrom

Robert "Bob” R. Bartrom, 78, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at 7:29 a.m., at Parkview Wabash Hospital.

Mr. Bartrom was a 1960 Graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at Culligan Water Conditioning in Sales and Service from 1970 to 1977, then worked in maintenance and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1994 after 24 years of service. He was past Commander and held many offices at the VFW Post No. 2689 of Huntington, including being the Fifth District Commander. He was also a member of American Legion Post 160 in Roanoke and Post 85 in Huntington. He was also a member of the 40 et 8 Voiture.

He was born on Feb. 13, 1942, in Huntington, to Robert L. and Betty M. Slusser Bartrom. He married Ruth M. Dougay on Jan. 15, 1963, in Lake Charles, LA. She survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy) Hubartt, of Andrews, Christina Voght, of Huntington, and Carolyn Black, of Pikeville, TN; a brother, Martin (Sharon) Bartrom, of Huntington; a sister, Marsha Bartrom, of Wolcottville; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Calling will be held Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Mark Hoffer officiating.
