Nancy L. Blackwood Chubb

Nancy L. Blackwood Chubb, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mrs. Chubb received her bachelor’s from Ohio University in Athens, where she would go on to serve as a public school music teacher for more than 40 years. She would later move to western New York, where she continued to teach before retiring in south Florida.

She was born on May 30, 1936, in Tuppers Plains, OH, to Homer and Mildred Steward Blackwood. She married Robert L. Burson on Aug. 30, 1958, in Athens, OH. He preceded her in death. She was then married to her second husband, Richard Chubb, on Dec. 29, 1990, in Chautauqua, NY. Richard also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Burson, of Columbus, OH, and Scott Burson, of Roanoke; a sister, Lelia Sublett of Wimberley, TX; three stepsons, Robert Chubb, of Atlanta, GA, John Chubb, of Akron, NY and Rick Chubb, of Linthicum Heights, MD; and numerous grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
