Harold “Dean” Rittenhouse

Harold “Dean” Rittenhouse, 80, of Huntington, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at his home.  

Mr. Rittenhouse was a 1958 graduate of Huntington High School.  He retired in 1995 from General Electric in Fort Wayne after 28 years.  During his time at G.E. he also served as a volunteer fireman. He was a member of the Huntington Moose Lodge and SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He was born on May 13, 1940 in Huntington, to Meredith and Myrtle Sweet Rittenhouse. He married Marilyn Crumpacker on Feb. 14, 1970, at SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, and she survives.
 
Additional survivors include three sons, John (Lisa) Rittenhouse, of Montana, Michael Rittenhouse, of Woodridge, IL, and Brian Mix, of Columbia City; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.

Calling will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m., and again from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington.  A rosary service will be held at 5:45 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made out to Parkview Hospice, the Lymphoma Society, or to SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.
