Vera M. Scott

Vera M. Scott, 90, formerly of Chester Township, in Wells County, and currently living at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at Heritage Pointe.

Ms. Mounsey attended Chester Center High School, participating in the play “Calamity Kids” during her senior year. She helped publish the monthly school newspaper and was in Glee Club, Booster, Sunshine Society and was active in her senior class. She worked at Wells Community Hospital, starting in the front office and then filing insurance claims. She retired in July of 1955, then worked at Duane’s Sweeper Shoppe. She also volunteered at Bargain Hut in Bluffton. She was involved at First Church of Christ in Bluffton. She moved to Heritage Pointe in Warren on Aug. 6, 2014.

She was born on March 22, 1930, to Victor and Grace Lockwood Mounsey. She married William G. Scott on Aug. 1, 1948, at South Liberty Church in Liberty Township. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1985.

Survivors include four children, Linda (Brian) Elzroth, Gloria (James) Huffman, Barry (Shelly) Scott and Brent (Jenessa) Scott; ten grandchildren, Brent Elzroth, Deidre Elzroth, Becky Boyd, Nathan Huffman, Michelle Barker, Tyler Scott, Meghan Scott, Logan Scott, Thea Scott and Trevin Scott; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Scott, a son-in-law, Jim Huffman, and a grandson, Jamie Huffman.

Calling will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, with a funeral service to immediately follow. Rev. Dick Case will officiate. Interment will follow at a later date at Prospect Cemetery in Wells County. Those who are in attendance are asked to follow local guideliens regarding COVID-19 restrictions.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit, Activities Department at Heritage Pointe in Warren, or to Prospect Cemetery in Wells County.
