James E. 'Jim' Poulson

James E. “Jim” Poulson, of Warren, IN, died June 30, 2020, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mr. Poulson served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 immediately upon graduating from Liberty Center High.  He earned several medals including a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Bluffton American Legion and worked for many years as a machinist at Dana Corporation in Marion.

Mr. Poulson lived most of his life in Liberty Township before moving to Heritage Pointe in Warren in 2015.

He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Miami County, near Converse to Grover and Edna Poulson. He married Willadene Markley on March 16, 1947, at the Liberty Center Methodist Church, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Poulson, of Bluffton; a son, Gary Poulson, of rural Liberty Center; a sister, Hazel R. Brooks, of Warren; two brothers, Robert Poulson, of rural Liberty Center, and Daniel Poulson, of Warren; three brothers-in-law, Darwin Markley, David (Kathy) Markley and Jerome (Jill) Markley; a grandson, Jeremy Poulson, of rural Liberty Center; a stepdgrandaughter, Mandy (Ryan) Ramsey, of Markle; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott E. Poulson, and a daughter-in-law, Connie Poulson.

A private service will be handled by Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren, with burial at the Gardens of Memory near Marion.
