Ralph E. Doyle

Ralph E. Doyle, 87, of Van Buren, IN, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at 7:23 p.m. at Marion General Hospital in Marion.

Mr. Doyle was a 1957 graduate of Van Buren High School. He retired from the United States Air Force, for which he served from 1954 to 1972. Mr. Doyle was a bomber pilot in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.  He was the former owner of RD Gun Shop in Van Buren.

He was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Van Buren to  Edgar and Alta M. Julius Doyle. He married Joann Coleman on Oct. 12, 1957, in Van Buren, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 2008.

Survivors include a  son, Patrick E. Doyle, of Van Buren; two daughters,  Kathryn (Charles) Griffin, of Marion, and Pamela (Adam) Mendoza, of Chandler, AZ; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith, of Plattsburgh, NY; six grandchildren,  Bradley Griffin, of Marion; John Mendoza and Megan Mendoza, both of Chandler, AZ; and Charles Griffin Jr., Brian Griffin and Shelly Pattison; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.  at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Van Buren. A service to celebrate his life will be immediately following calling at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the air force.
