Phillip W. 'Bill' Miller

Phillip W. "Bill" Miller, 86, of Marion, IN, and having ties to Van Buren, IN, died Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 11:08 p.m. at Century Villa Health Care & Rehabilitation in Greentown.

Mr. Miller attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser and the Sunridge Baptist Church in Sebring, FL. For 32 years, he was a pipefitter at GM in Marion. He served in the United States Air Force in Korea. He had lived in Sebring, FL, for 20 years, until moving back into the Grant County area.

He was born Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1933, in Windfall to John E. and Marie Sapp Miller. He married Carolyn Jo Cox on Saturday, March 31, 1990, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 2018.

Survivors include a son, Billy (Sharon) Miller, of Wabash; three stepsons, Kent (Lori) Shields, of Converse; Brad (Carol) Trees, of Avon; and Brent Trees, of Marion; two stepdaughters, Joan Lavengood, of Amboy, and Jill Krovoza, of Converse; a sister, Lily Hale, of Sharpsville; a brother, Donald “Donnie” (Betty) Miller, of Greentown; two sisters, Joann Marks, of Greentown, Patty (Bob) Poole, of Blue Springs, MO; a sister-in-law, Ann Miller, of Windfall;16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Miller, and a daughter, Betty Miller.
 
Calling is Friday, Jne 19, 2020, from 10 a.m. to noon at Van Buren United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 105 S. 2nd St., Van Buren. A service to celebrate his life will follow immediately after at noon, with Rev. Dave Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
