Helen M. Miller

Helen Marie Miller, 72, of Angola, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 10:40 a.m. at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Miller graduated from Monmoth High School in 1966 and worked for GTE/Verizon in Fort Wayne as a key punch operator for 25 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, where she was on the board of education. She was a member of West Otter Lake Association, membership vice president of Steuben County Lake Council and Thrivent Financial of Angola. She was a coordinator of the EDGE Gift Card fund-raiser for the Wee Creations Preschool, annual Easter breakfast at her church, volunteered with Santa’s Helpers and helped with the Lake Association Directory.

She was born Feb. 20, 1948, in Decatur to Hilbert and Marie Berning Hockemeyer. She married Kenneth H. Miller on March 1, 1986, in Huntington, and he survives.

Additional survivors are two daughters, Sara J. (Rodney) Wilson, of Celina, OH, and Cynthia (Keith) Tobin, of Huntington; a son, David A. Baumgartner, of Huntington; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Steve) Herkins, of Malvern, PA, and Debra (Keith) Ferguson, of Port Charlotte, FL; a stepson, Kenneth Miller, of Bradenton, FL; a sister, Alice Beltran, of Fair Oaks, CA; two brothers, Don Hockemeyer of Decatur, and Richard Hockemeyer, of Springfield, OH; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, June 14, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 15, 2020, at 10 a.m.  at the mortuary, with Rev. Jeffrey Teeple officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.

A memorial service held Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ind.-120, Fremont.
