Rena S. Okuly-Kelsey

Rena Sue Okuly-Kelsey, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Kelsey was employed as a property manager at Carriage Place Apartments in 1982 and retired in 1996.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, and E.S.A. Sorority Delta Iota Chapter 3525 and VFW 2689 Huntington Auxiliary.

She was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Bloomington to Herman and Freida Purcell Woods. Her first marriage was to Gene Okuly on May 24, 1975, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1997.  Her second marriage was to William ‘Bill’ Kelsey on Jan. 11, 1999, and he survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include two sons, Kenny Goodman, of Waynesville, NC, and Kevin (Linda) Goodnight, of Huntington; four daughters,  Kathleen A. Smith, of Huntington; Karin S. (Tom) Fulkerson and Karol M. (Michael) Bonine, both of Bloomington; and Kelly C. (Tony Davis) Bates, of Ketchikan, AK; four stepsons, Charles L. (Vicki) Kelsey, of North Manchester; Cary D. (Betty) Kelsey, of Elkhart; Michael Carr, of Hot Springs, AR; and Randel Carr, of Pierceton; four stepdaughters, Shirley M. (Charles) Fox, of Indianapolis; Mary S. (Dan) Riccius, of North Manchester; Sharon K. Lee, of Fort Wayne; and Amy L. (Bob) Blake, of Vincennes; a brother, Bud Fisher, of The Villages, FL; two sisters, Sandra J. DeMoss, of Huntington, and Cheryl A. (Ross) Thompson, of Rocklin, CA; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Larry Allen Kelsey and William Carr; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Paulus and Viola Moore; and a grandson, Alex Rice.

Calling is Friday, June 5, 2020, from noon to 1 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington.
The family will have a private Mass of Christian Burial at the church. A private burial will be at a later date.
