Carole V. Shively

Carole V. Shively, 83, of rural Uniondale, IN, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2020, at Oakbrook Village in Huntington.

A 1954 graduate of North Side High School, Mrs. Shively worked as a legal secretary at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne for more than 20 years.  She and her husband co-owned Oak Tree Antiques and Gifts in Uniondale and Golden Era Antique Store in Bluffton. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Uniondale.

She was born June 5, 1936, in Fort Wayne to Fred and Abigale (Relue) Stellhorn. She married Richard “Dick” Shively on Jan. 4, 1958, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim (Joe) Minnich, of Bluffton; two brothers, Jack Stellhorn, of Holt, MI; and Bob Stellhorn, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Bev Anders, of Defiance, OH; two grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Minnich and Jenny (Eric) Borror, both of Bluffton; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Goodwin–Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb 13,  2020, at 11 a.m.  at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.  Tony Garton will officiate.

Memorials are to either the Markle or Uniondale volunteer fire departments.
