Elizabeth 'Liz' Farthing Terhaar

Elizabeth “Liz” Farthing Terhaar, 88, of Huntington, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at 2:40 p.m. at Tipton Place in Huntington.

Mrs. Terhaar worked at Memcor for 10 years and was self-employed cleaning homes for more than 20 years. She was a lifetime member of Huntington Church of Christ, Moose Lodge 837 Women’s Auxiliary Chapter 255 and VFW Post 2689 Auxiliary in Huntington.

She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Huntington to Omer and Clara Thorn Broxon. She married Stanley Farthing on April 10, 1953, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1987. She then married Lewis Terhaar, and he also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Kent (Diana) Farthing, Gary (Cindy) Farthing and Mark (Rebeccah) Farthing, all of Huntington; four daughters, Linda (Sam Crago) Denman, Susan (Robert) Mygrant and Donna (Jerry) Bolding, all of Huntington, and Carol (Paul) Wyatt, of Columbia City; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Rick Farthing and Ron Farthing, and a great-grandson, Kensey Bowie.

Calling is Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Scott Reece officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
