Michael K. Hunnicutt

Michael Kennedy Hunnicutt, 61, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at Parkview Regional Hospital, in Fort Wayne, IN.

Mr. Hunnicutt attended Huntington Catholic Schools and graduated from Huntington North High School in 1977.  He received an associate’s from Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne.  He was a computer programmer for many years at North American Van Lines, which later became SIRVA.  He also served in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
 
He was born Nov. 6, 1958, in Huntington to Joseph K. and Margaret “Margi” Kennedy Hunnicutt, who survive in Huntington.

Additional survivors are four brothers, Matthew (Werner Ochoa) Hunnicutt, of Chicago, IL; Martin (Breck) Hunnicutt and Todd Patrick (Kathleen) Hunnicutt, both of Fort Wayne; and Vincent Hunnicutt, of Huntington; a sister, Peggy (Ted Frost) Billings, of Denver, CO; and three granddaughters, Lacie Marie Hunnicutt, Jacie Herring and Christine Hiday.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerin Matthew Hunnicutt and Caleb Joseph Hunnicutt.

Calling is Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 7p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St, Huntington. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Additional calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. , with a Mass of Christian burial following immediately after at 10 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Rev. Stephen Colchin and Rev. Tony Steinacker will preside. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Marion.
