Louis 'Wayne' Draper

Louis “Wayne” Draper, 91, of Warren, IN, formerly of rural LaFontaine, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at 3:25 a.m. at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mr. Draper was a 1946 graduate of Somerset High School and was a United States Army veteran. He retired from General Tire in Marion after 23 years. He also farmed for 66 years. He was a member of the LaFontaine Christian Church.

He was born April 2, 1928, in Wabash County to Fernando and Bessie Stambaugh Draper. He married Betty "Joann" Bender in Wabash on Feb. 13, 1951, and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons,  Mark (Lori) Draper and Scott Draper, both of Wabash; a daughter, Cheryl Draper, of Kirkwood, MO; two sisters, Lois Chain, of Atlanta, GA, and Ruth Templin, of Wabash; five grandchildren, Brian (Alicia) Draper and Kandis Draper, both of Wabash; Janelle (Adam) Darnell, of Springlake, MI; Andrew Draper, of Rochester; and Sofia Draper, of Louisville, KY; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Brad Wright officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
