Olive E. Jones

Olive E. Jones, 103, of Huntington, IN, and formerly of Markle, IN, died Friday morning, Jan. 10, 2020, at the Heritage of Huntington, where she had resided for the last seven years.

Mrs. Jones had worked as an upholstery seamstress for 17 years for AJK Upholstery. She was a 1935 graduate of Markle High School and member of the Markle Church of Christ.

She was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Huntington County to Leroy and Winnie Rozella Fyson Wilburn. She married Charley C. Jones on July 1, 1939, in Angola, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Joy Gilbert, of Markle; a sister, Gwen Wilburn, of Winter Park, FL; seven grandchildren, Kris Best, Michael (Tammy) Kinsey, Heather (Mark) Moore, Matt (Lisa) Gilbert, Jennifer (Danny) Bragg, Kim Spahr and Amanda Zane; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Kinsey and Sharon Shumaker.

Calling is Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will also take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 6 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at the Spider Hill Cemetery in rural Wells County.
