Virginia 'Ginny' Weinley

Virginia “Ginny” Weinley, 97, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at 4:39 a.m.  at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mrs. Weinley graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1941 and then from Warner Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She owned and operated Virginia’s Beauty Shop for more than 60 years. She also taught at Yuma State Beauty College in Arizona. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington, where she served as head of the rosary sodality. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was a past president of Kappa Sigma Tau Sorority.

She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County, to Martin H. and Philomena Meyer Pfister. She married Victor R. Weinley on Oct. 17, 1953, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary C. Flora, of Canton, MI; three grandchildren, Jill Flora, Jennifer (Mike) Shull and Jeffery (Natalie) Flora; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dave Flora, and a great-granddaughter, Lillianna Shull.

Calling is Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A rosary service will be held prior to visitation at 2:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Rev. Steve Colchin officiating. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.
