Ruth A. Stauffer

Ruth Ann Stauffer, 78, of Markle, IN, died late Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Markle Health & Rehab.

Mrs. Stauffer was a 1959 graduate of Rockcreek High School. She taught Sunday School.

She was born June 19, 1941, in Stroh to Kenneth and Pauline Smith Faust. She married Gerald “Jay” Stauffer on March 6, 1960, at the Markle United Methodist Church, and he survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Tammera (Richard) Hazelwood, of Cumming, GA, and Jayleen (Cory) Smith, of Markle; two sons, Richard J. (Julie) Stauffer, of Plymouth, and John E. “Eddie” (Amy) Stauffer, of Markle; three sisters, Janet Roebuck, of Huntington; Clara L. Hott, of Markle; and Dottie Platt, of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Jake Hazelwood, Daniel Stauffer, Michael Stauffer, Joseph Stauffer, Kaylee Patterson, Reilly Stauffer, Lucas Stauffer, Lily Smith and Lora Smith; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Dennis Stauffer, and a granddaughter, Addison Ann Stauffer.

Calling is Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., in Bluffton and for one hour prior to the service at the the Markle United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Chad Yoder will officiate.
