Sallie Klopfenstine

Sallie Klopfenstine, 95, of Avilla, IN, and having family in Warren, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

She was employed at Starcraft and Hymatic in the past and was a member of the Church of Christ in Kendallville.

Mrs. Klopfenstine was born May 2, 1924, in Hazard, KY, to Pearl and Nancy Williams Feltner.  She married Avon E. Klopfenstine on Nov. 3, 1979, in Kendallville, and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Geneva Stidham, of Kendallville; a son, James (Kathie) Eversole, of Avilla; a stepdaughter, Brenda (Jon) Ballard, of Daleville; a stepson, Darrell (Dawn) Klopfenstein, of Wolcottville; eight grandchildren, Samuel Stidham, Teresa (Henry) Collins, Jason Lewis, all of Kendallville; Robert Woods, of Avilla; Chuck (Natalie) Woods, of Albion; Bryon Woods, of Jeffersonville; Ronnie (Pam) Lewis and Crystal (Chris) Handshoe, both of Harrisburg, Arkansas; four stepgrandchildren, Adam (Susie) Klopfenstein, of Kendallville; Trent (Kristin) Klopfenstein, of South Milford; Katie (Mick) Leas, of Warren; and Kyle (Lee Anne) Ballard, of Daleville; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Hershal Lewis Jr.; a son-in-law, Fred Stidham; a daughter-in-law, Diana Lewis; and a stepgranddaughter, Beth Sexton.
 
Calling is Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at the funeral home, with Rev. Steve Altman officiating. Burial will take place at Brushy Chapel Cemetery in LaGrange County.
