L. Wayne Jenks

L. Wayne Jenks, 90, of Warren, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at 7:06 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Warren.

Mr. Jenks graduated from Huntington High School in 1948. He retired from Huntington County Community School Corporation in 1992 after 26 years in maintenance. He also spent 16 years working on the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. He was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

He was born March 24, 1929, in Huntington to Fred and Elona Shalley Jenks. He married Carolyn A. Hosler on Oct. 29, 1949, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include four sons, Robert W. (Debra) Jenks of Indianapolis, David E. (Dianna) Jenks of Laingsburg, Michigan, and Philip J. (Shannon) Jenks of Leesburg; two half-brothers, Larry Jenks, of Markle, and Mark Jenks, of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Susan Hiple, of Huntington; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Applegate Chapel at Heritage Pointe of Warren, 801 N. Huntington Ave., Warren, with Gerald Moreland officiating. An additional hour of calling from will be held Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at noon. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington.
