Elmer F. Featherston

Elmer F. Featherston, 87, of Angola, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at 12:15 a.m. at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Mr. Featherston was a 1950 graduate of Carmel High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Michigan State University on the G.I. bill and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science. He began his career at Zionsville Grain Company, where he worked in the family business until 1970, when he changed careers and began working as a sales representative for Bankers Systems for 22 years until his retirement. He was a resident of Angola for 32 years and attended Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, and Christ Church in Long Boat Key, Florida, during his winter stays.

He was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Carmel to Callie and Helen Bracken Featherston. He married Maxine Kendall Featherston, and she preceded him in death after 62 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia (Brian) Ventura, of Farmington Hills, MI, and Margo (Paul) Breininger, of Huntington; a son, Mark (Julie) Featherston, of Huntington; a sister: Jean Kyle; nine grandchildren, Nathan (Megan) Breininger, Kaitlyn (Dustin) Grogg, Chad (Maryssa) Breininger, Colin Featherston, Caleb Featherston, Kelsey Featherston, Lisa Ventura, Laura Ventura and Leslie Ventura; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, 2955 W. Orland Rd., Angola, with funeral services immediately following at the chapel.
