Charles M. 'Charlie' Crain

Charles M. “Charlie” Crain, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at 11:04 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Crain graduated from Maysville High School in 1952 and attended Asbury College in Willmore, KY. He also attended Ball State Teacher’s College. He worked at Snyder Ford in North Manchester. For 42 years, he was the owner of Crain Ford in Warren.

He was born May 22, 1934, in Maysville, KY, to Owsley S. and Mildred N. Ratliff Crain. He married Julie A. Manes on Jan. 31, 2005, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Cindy Crain, of Maryville, TN, and Carol (Tim) Galvin, of Tuftonboro, NH; a stepdaughter, Cassandra (Scott) Rakoczy, of Huntington; a stepson, Michael (Sarah) Kocher, of Huntington; a brother, Mark M. (Judith) Crain, of Hillsboro, KY; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Emma Kocher, and a grandchild.

Calling is Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Rev. Ray Seilhamer and Rev. Tony Steinacker officiating. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Entombment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
