Theron Rupley

Theron Rupley, 88, of North Manchester, IN, and formerly of Huntington County, IN, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

Mr. Rupley graduated from Chester High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a retired farmer and counter clerk at Frantz Lumber Co., in North Manchester. He was a school bus driver for many years for Manchester Community Schools. He and his wife owned Teddy’s and Treasure’s Antique Store in North Manchester.

Mr. Rupley was a member of American Legion Post 286 in North Manchester, Deming Lodge 88 F&AM in North Manchester and the Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, both in Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Huntington County to John H. and Gertrude Garner Rupley. He married Marilee Wietzel Weimann on July 13, 1973, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2006.

Survivors include two sons, Jack H. (Cathy) Rupley, of North Manchester, and John R. Rupley, of Susanville, CA; a daughter, Jenny (Randy) Roget, of Black Shear, GA; four stepsons, Randy (Mary Jo) Weimann and Steve Weimann, both of North Manchester; Jeff (Koleen) Weiman, of Roann; and Mike (Marcie) Weimann, of Laughlin, NV; a sister, Phyllis Hilsamer, of Beaver Creek, OH; nine grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Calling is Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester. A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, at a later date.
