Darren M. 'Mark' Byrd

Darren M. “Mark” Byrd, 74, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at 10:40 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Byrd retired from Huntington County Highway Department after 10 years of service as a truck driver. He also drove for Graves Trucking in Fort Wayne for 13 years. He was a member of Andrews Church of the Brethren.

He was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Huntington to Milton Byrd and Ruth Graham Dolby. He married Nancy A. Blew on Jan. 13, 1984, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two stepsons, Daryl Lahr, of Warren, and Eric Lahr, of Huntington; two stepdaughters, Cynthia (Larry) Hindle, of Leo, and Rhena (Will) Worthington, of Terre Haute; two sisters, Sharon Hitzman, of Fort Wayne and Rebecca Barry, of Freemont; four half-brothers, John Dolby and Bill Dolby, both of Lancaster; David Byrd, of Craigville, and Max Byrd of Roanoke; two half-sisters, Ann Delgado, of Marion, and Carol Barts of Alabama; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Byrd.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
