Sister Lucy M. Vega

Sister Lucy Marie Vega, OLVM, 95, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at Saint Anne Community at Victory Noll, in Huntington, IN.

Sister Vega entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Jan. 6, 1955, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1957. Her first mission was in Lubbock, TX. She served in the missions in several other towns in Texas before serving in Ohio, Arizona and Wyoming. She also served in the community at Victory Noll in various capacities, including as coordinator and of the local community and administrator of Holy Family Health Center. In 1997, she became the archivist, a position she held until 2008.  She was also the first director of the Victory Noll Center.   

She was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Mason City, IA, to Leon and Maria Perez Vega.

She is survived by two brothers, Peter Vega, of Mason City, IA, and Raul Vega, of Whittier, CA.

A Vigil service will be held Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at 4:30 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service at Bishop Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the Mass, at the chapel. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington.
