Melodye A. 'Mel' Nulf

Melodye A. ‘Mel’ Nulf, of Big Lake, IN, and formerly of Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at 9:15 a.m.

Mrs. Nulf grew up in the Roanoke area before her family moved north of Columbia City to Tri-Lakes. She was involved with the Future Farmers of America group while attending Columbia City Joint High School, and she graduated in 1975. She started working at Whitley Memorial Hospital while still in high school, and worked her entire career there.

She was born March 30, 1957, to Clarence T. and Ruth V. Ellis Wall. She married Robert E. Nulf on Aug. 30, 1975, and he survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Brad Nulf, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Brian Nulf, of Big Lake; a brother, John (Emma) Wall, of Columbia City; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wall, of Fort Wayne; a brother-in-law, Urban Shatzer, of Hartford City; and two granddaughters, Alexandra Smith and Sarah Nulf.

Calling is Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A funeral service will be Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Sharon Brockhaus officiating.

Memorials are to the American Heart Association.
