Morris D. Williams

Morris Dean Williams, 89, of Wabash, IN, and having family in Lagro, IN, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at 6:48 p.m., at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Wabash.

Mr. Williams was a 1948 graduate of Wabash High School and was also a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ford Meter Box in Wabash and also was a car salesman for Canal Ford. He attended the First Church of Christ Scientist in Warsaw, and also attended several churches in Wabash. He was a former member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge.

He was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Miami County to Ralph and Vida Ferree Williams. He married Doris Ann Ward in Wabash on Aug. 20, 1954, and she died Jan. 17, 2014.

He is survived by a daughter, Faith (Tom) Ogden, of Wabash; a son, Mark (Robin) Williams, of Wabash; a sister-in-law, Jenna Williams, of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Ian (Phoebe Hearn) Ogden, Josh (Stephanie) Williams, Jeremy Williams and Rachel (Jeremy) Landis, all of Wabash; and Emily (Shannon) Overlander, of Lagro; and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling will be Monday, July 8, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave. Wabash. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Bernice Pickering officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
