Johannes de Groot

Johannes de Groot, 66, of Andrews, IN, died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Mr. deGroot bought a farm in Werkhoven, The Netherlands, in 1980, and in 1982, he started milking cows. In 2002, he built a dairy farm near Andrews that grew into a 2,000-cow dairy operation along with the youngstock and growing forages to feed the cows.

He attended Life Church in Huntington.

He was born July 6, 1952, in Utrecht, The Netherlands, to Egbert and Engelina de Groot. He married Wilhelmina van der Panne, and she survives after 45 years.

Additional survivors are a son, Johan J. (Dejanne) de Groot; and four daughters, Marjolein J.E. (Zach) Jansen, of Nieuw Buinen, The Netherlands; Patricia G. (Fred) Veldhuizen and Egberdien (Elmar) Hogendoorn, both of Werkhoven, The Netherlands; and Annemarie M.C. (Patrick) Kuijer, of Soest, The Netherlands; and 12 grandchildren.
 
  Calling is Monday, June 17, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A  funeral service will follow immediately follow after at 7 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hill officiating.
