Phil Rust

Phil Rust, of Marion, and having ties to Van Buren, IN, died June 9, 2019, at Marion General Hospital.

Mr. Rust was a 1952 graduate of Van Buren High School. After high school he worked as a mechanic at Munson’s Pontiac for 20 years. He retired from Indiana Michigan Power in 1995 after 20 years of service. He was an active member of the Deer Creek Conservation Club and was also a member of the NRA.

He was born May 9, 1934, in Marion to Everett and Aletha A. Kem Rust. He married Donna Faulkner on Nov. 6, 1965, and she survives.

Additional survivors are two daughters, Linda D. (Danny) Stevens, of Cape Coral, FL, and Kimberly (Mathew) Willman, of Fairmount; a sister, Dorothy Doyle, of Marion; three grandchildren, Kristina Stevens, of Cape Coral, FL; Logan (Natasha) Willman, of Westfield; and Blaine Willman, of Marion; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, with Rev. Darryl Smith officiating. The entombment was in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.
