William G. Snyder

William Gene Snyder, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Zanesville, IN, died May 18, 2019, at his home.

Mr. Snyder was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He worked at BF Goodrich for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He and his wife started their own business, New Haven Trophies, which they owned from 1980 until 2016. He coaches softball in New Haven for many years.

He was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Zanesville to Ralph and Mary M. Snyder. He married Wanda Harmon 57 years ago, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters,  Teresa (Dan) Gibbons, of South Haven, MI; Sherry (Matt) Monesmith, of Jasper; and Tiffani (Mike) Setlak, of New Haven;  a son, Todd (Lisa) Snyder, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mary Lou Snyder, of Huntington, and Joan (Jim) Abbott, of Roanoke; three brothers, Louis (Sharon) Snyder, of New Haven, and Steve (Pam) Snyder and Dan (Kris) Snyder, of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren, Will (Julie) Gibbons, of Loma Linda, CA; John (Bethany) Gibbons, of Ann Arbor, MI; Caitlin Monesmith, of Chicago, IL; Lauren (Brendan Hurley) Monesmith, of Columbia, MO; Nick Monesmith and Sarah Monesmith, both of Jasper; Nick Snyder and Lindsay Snyder, of Fort Wayne; and Anna Setlak and Lily Setlak, of New Haven; and a great-grandson siblings.

Calling is Wednesday, May 22, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with vigil at 4:30 p.m., at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one-half hour prior. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
