Ronald B. Hite

Ronald Braxton Hite, 76 of Huntington, IN, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne after a brief battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

Mr. Hite was a lifelong farmer. He also worked as a purchasing agent for United Technologies in Huntington, Mobile Aerial Towers in Fort Wayne and Indiana Metals in Rochester. He was the current lay leader for and a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church and president of the Rock Creek High School alumni banquet.

He was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Warren to Wayne and Donnella Trout Hite. He married Jane Reber on Aug. 12, 1962, at Barnes Chapel in Huntington County, and she survives.

Additional survivors areĀ  two daughters, Rhonda (Chuck) Smith, of Colfax, and Cheryl (Steve) Fritsch, of Long Valley, NJ; a son, Todd (Polly) Hite, of Greenwood; a brother: Jerry (Mandy) Hite, of Huntington; a sister, Vicki (Jon) McIntire, of Warren; three stepbrothers, Larry (Diane) Meyers, of Conway, AR; David E. (Bonnie) Meyers, of Warren; and James (Cindy) Miller, of Leesburg; and nine grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, May 17, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 10 a.m., with one hour of visitation prior to the service, at the North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd St., North Manchester. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.

Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the church.
