Larry D. Farmer

Larry D. Farmer, 71, of Laketon, and having ties to Huntington, died Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 8:45 a.m. at Peabody Healthcare Center, in North Manchester.

Mr. Farmer worked for Majestic Corp. in Huntington as a forklift driver for 32 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Laketon Wesleyan Church and American Legion Post 402. He graduated from Akron High School.

He was born July 21, 1947, in Prestonburg, KY, to William and Laura Marie Burchett Farmer. He married Bonnie S. Bolding on Dec. 31, 1974, and she survives.

Additional survivors are four daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Asher, of Huntington, Shannondoah M. Tidwell, of Tennessee; Shawn M. Burks, of Jackson, TN; and Carrie Farmer, of Indiana; two brothers, Jerry R. Farmer, of Silver Lake, and James E. (Aimee) Farmer, of Warsaw; two sisters, Golda S. (James) Clark, of Liberty Mills, and Lois A. Warren, of North Manchester; six grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal G. Farmer.

Calling is Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 10 a.m. to noon, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester. A funeral service will follow immediately after at noon at the mortuary, with Rev. David Cox officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion.
