Bertha B. Pedersen

Bertha B. Pedersen, 94, of Huntington, IN, and formerly of Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 6:05 p.m. at Oakbrook Village, Huntington.

Mrs. Pederson worked in production at GE for 19 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Roanoke First Brethren Church, DAV Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and GE Elex Club, and she volunteered with Special Olympics.

She was born May 24, 1924, in St. Mary’s, ID, to Edward and Elizabeth (Haskins) Hurtienne. She married Ferris E. Pedersen on May 15, 1951, in Fairplay, CO, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1998.

Survivors include a son Ferris E. “Pete” Pedersen, of Huntington; a daughter Zena D. (Larry) Bowers, of Huntington; two sisters, Karen Vassur of Colorado, and Gail Hudson, of Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Larry “Punk” (Stephanie) Bowers, Julie (Matthew) Arquette, Heather (Nate) Minton, Trudy (Tracy) Stanley, Robert Williams, Deb (Richard) Shell, Carla Winters, Tim Wohlford, Jim Wohlford and Glen “Dino” Biddle; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence E. Jackson.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
