Cynthia 'Darlene' Baker-Heare

Cynthia "Darlene" Baker-Heare, 78, of Monroe, IN, and ha ving ties to Van Buren, IN, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 2:08 p.m. at Signature Health & Rehabilitation in Bluffton, IN.

She was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Marion to Ralph and Crystall Tarr Baker. Her husband, David Heare, preceded her in death.

 Mrs. Baker-Heare was a 1958 graduate of Eastbook High School. She had been self-employed for most of her life, owning Darlene's Haus of Styles and D&D Ceramics in Van Buren. She was a member of the Eagles in Decatur.

Survivors include a son, David (Geri) Messersmith, of Marion; a daughter, Cindy (Gary) Eakins, of Holiday, FL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A family service will be held at a later date in the spring. Interment will take place in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
