Glenn C. Dillon

Glenn C. Dillon, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 4:09 a.m.

Mr. Dillon graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville in 1953, and he served in the Ohio Army National Guard as a staff sergeant. He retired in 2008 from Ward Corporation in Fort Wayne after 15 years as an estimating engineer. Prior to that, he spent 30 years working at Magnetek as a senior manufacturing engineer. He had also worked at Chicago Transformer in Zanesville, OH. He was a member of Huntington Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon and taught adult Sunday school. He was also the chairman of the building and grounds for the church.

He was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Zanesville, OH, to James C. and Alice Marie Covert Dillon. He married Betty Louise Ethell on June 3, 1956, in Dresden, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2011.

Survivors include three sons, Robert E. (Charlotte) Dillon and Richard A. Dillon, both of Huntington, and Michael (Paula) Dillon, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Bernice (Donald) Sigrist, of Zanesville, OH; six grandchildren, Chad Dillon, Jennifer Nevil, Melissa Brumley, Joshua Dillon, Jodi Byrd and Nichole Heinkel; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kristie Dennis and Jeff Dennis.

Calling is Monday, March 11, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Huntington Church of the Brethren, 306 E. Washington St., Huntington, with Tim Troyer officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County.
